Rego Consulting, Practice Lead /Solutions Consultant, Florida

Application Portfolio Management (APM) Architect, responsible for leading client implementations of ServiceNow APM/CMDB/Software Asset Management, overseeing workshop, design, requirements gathering, development, and implementation.  Led the formation of a dedicated practice, focused on Reporting/Analytics standards, development, and training within the organization and expanded to Rego Consulting client services. Member of a core team that partnered with ServiceNow, architecting a next generation Application Portfolio Management suite of applications for ServiceNow PPS.

·     Responsible for leading client implementations of Application Portfolio Management, utilizing ServiceNow APM/CMDB and Software Asset Management

2015-Present

The Nielsen Company, IT Director – Big Data Platforms, Florida

Leading the architecture, design, development and operational support of a new Big Data Analytics platform. Leading a team of over 50 developers, architects and service delivery personnel, to implement from the ground up a new big data analytics solution to service all of Nielsen Buy practices. 

·     Led a team of architects to design and implement a new Big Data platform based on Hadoop (Cloudera) and other associated technologies (Spark, MapReduce, Java, Hive, Impala)

·     Worked closely with business partners to identify key revenue growth areas, to target next-gen analytical models at a scale not previously capable with legacy technologies.  This new growth opportunity is targeting ~$75 Million in additional revenue over the next 3 years

Built a service delivery organization from the ground up, utilizing ITIL as a starting framework, to support the creation of a Hadoop Center of Excellence, which will grow to support all Hadoop environments within Nielsen Buy

Led the formation of a new team, focused on Application and User Profiling services, comprised of over 100 team members, whose primary focus is around Windows 7/Citrix application, and user, migrations for over 8,000 applications and 350,000 clients

·     Integrated 5 disparate teams into one cohesive organization, defining and implementing operating models that will increase total output globally

·     Responsible for ensuring platform readiness for over 8,000 applications, comprised of both internally developed and third party applications

·     Built strategic relationships with internal development teams, allowing the team to establish project plans for Windows 7/Citrix application readiness of all 8,000 applications within 18 months

·     Established a managed service model for application streaming creation activities with an outside vendor, adopting a “pay-per-drink” model, reducing time-to-market whilst simultaneously reducing internal costs

Leading one of the worlds largest implementations of both Citrix and VMware virtual desktop solutions, achieved global standardization and implemented global support models

·     Led a global staff of over 40 infrastructure specialists, supporting nearly 160,000 clients and nearly 8,000 edge devices

·     Managed a full-suite of third-party application platforms built in support of our global virtual desktop solutions (Citrix, VMware, AppSense, ThinPrint, Wyse, EG, ThinApp), across over 3,000 servers

·     Drove negotiations with several key vendors, resulting in over $24 million dollars in cost avoidance on license and support costs

·     Increased platform availability, by instituting a globally consistent support model, coupled with consistent configuration standards, which resulted in a ~50% reduction in support incidents across the platform

·     Achieved over $3 million dollars in infrastructure cost saves through an aggressive approach to virtualize servers used to support Citrix desktop solutions

·     Delivered an increase of nearly $13 million dollars in internal chargebacks through the establishment of focused asset tracking for VMware hosted desktops
